Olympic themed Sports Day was a fantastic day and students participated in four different events at different locations in the school. We had the Olympic circuit based in the hall, the sensory trail in the garden, the wheelchair games in the playground as well as the games and races in the courtyard. Students competed in both the morning and afternoon engaging in sports for long periods of time.
The individual sports day winners were :- Jada in the games and race activities for participating for the whole of the session and helping her team to win the relays. In the sensory circuit we had two winners, Qaseem and Ayrin both for dealing with situations they are not comfortable In and performing fantastically throughout all of the activities in the garden. In the hall in the Olympic circuit Ben was our winner and this was for fantastic table tennis skills and also for attempting every activity twice in the allocated 40 minutes. Finally the wheelchair champion for the day was Bilal, he got this award for being very good himself but for also helping his classmate understand and develop.
Overall it was a fantastic day and a special mention goes out to class 9 who were this year’s sports day champions. Well done all.
