Class Waterloo weekly undertakes their shopping visits to Morrisons to purchase fruit for snack and ingredients for food technology lessons
Students each have a shopping list, be this written,
symbolic or pictorial
and are working towards locating items with
varying levels of support
Pupils take it in turn to help pay for items whether this is on the self service
One student acts as the banker
and helps pay for the items by finding the correct coins
In Jubilee Class we have been using our independent living skills.and spend lots of time in the Community
During our food technology lessons we practice holding the kitchen equipment and independently mixing different textures.
All the students show preference by choosing the fruit for class from a choice of two.
Some of the students are able to match items to a shopping list.
In Piccadilly class 2 students learn to load the food with minimum physical support and take independently the spoon to their mouth during lunch time every
The making of a Christmas Cake during Food Technology where festivals and celebrations (World Studies) were talked about plus Independent Living Skills were promoted in order to empower sixth form pupils soon to be leaving JFK.
The making of a Christmas Tune composed by all pupils in Class9. Picture is a snapshot of one of the writing sessions where pupils developed their creativity whilst learning basic song writing skills such as pitch repetition, rhythmic patterns and sections within a tune. CD out soon!
